PPKM representatives Mr. HC Chan, Ms. Cynthia Lim and Ms. Evelyn
Lo attended the APRC meeting on 9th September 2010 in Beijing. All
agreed in unison that research was an important tool in shopping
centre management and would engage it for more effective use
especially in the emerging markets. PPKM has agreed to contribute
country reports towards ICSCís Country Factsheets.
CASC Conference

CASC Conference was from 15-17 September 2010 held in
Taipei with the theme of Asian Commercial Real Estate: Innovative,
Intelligent, and Green. It was attended by more than 200 delegates
and PPKM was accorded a booth to promote its association and its
cause.
Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents (VAEA) Act 1981

In the continuing pursuit of lobbying against detrimental
effects on property management from the proposed amendments to
VAEA, a press conference was held on 29 September 2010 to
announce to that the amendments would be put on hold till further
meetings with industry players.
Joint Press Conference on Duty Free Merchandise

A press conference was held on 22 October 2010 by PPK
Malaysia to announce the industryís sentiments pertaining to the
announcement of duty free merchandise across more than 300 tourist
related items. The sentiment was that it is the right move in the
right direction as far as making Malaysia regionally competitive in
concern.
